Profile

I am Elena De Santis, I was born in Rome on 12/08/1997. I graduated at the Sapienza University of Roma where I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences and a Master's degree in Environmental Monitoring and Recovery (Curriculum Environmental Monitoring), both with 110/110 cum laude. For my master thesis I made field surveys in the Vallombrosa Biogenetic National Nature Reserve (FI).

I am passionate about nature photography, especially macro photography.

Research interests and PhD project

My research interests focus on forest ecology and biodiversity conservation (e.g., saproxylic fauna, deadwood, and microhabitats).
